i am thinking of buying a 450r and i have read that there really easy to kick start but how easy are they in the witer , i don't want buy some cold blooded qaud i have to kick start all winter

 

They start as easily in the winter as they do in the summer, fall and spring. One or two kicks and you're going. I also discovered in the really hot (85 and above) summer you never need to use the choke and first start up and you need to use the hot start button. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start with the choke on the first time I tried to start it in real hot weather until I turned the choke off and used the hotstart button. It started right up. I have a friend who ran into this same situation with his 450 last summer too.

 

Hey Rod (or anyone else),

Do you know what the Hot Start lever does technically? I mean, yes, I agree it makes kick-starting my R a lot easier, but I'm not sure why this is...

 

doesn't it lean it out, i think it has something to do with the air fuel ratio.
But good question, i've been wondering the same thing?
