fitting 27" on 450ES ?lift?
I just got my 00 Foreman 450 and the first thing I need to do is bigger tires. To fit 27's and still have fender clearance I want to do a lift too. The stock spring rates seem too soft for my liking so to lift it I was thinking about doing some aftermarket springs like these.- Here
Any thoughts on those?
Next thing is can I put 27's on my stock wheels? My wheels are 12's I just wonder if the width and backspacing works out OK.
What tire? Seems like everyone likes Muddlites but I live in Arizona and we don't get lots of mud. Mostly hard pack dirt and rock crawling.
Thanks,

You can run the 27inch tires no problem without a lift. I dont know about with stock wheels, I dont see why not. We all run ITP wheels which are only 7 inches wide and offset to the out side a little. I installed the hi-lifter lift kit on my Foreman. It looked good and actually made it ride better and handle lighter. I assume from the different angle the shocks were in with the kit installed. One day I jacked the atv up in the air in order to remove the front wheels and clean the brakes. I noticed that with the suspension unloaded the cv's were in a bind when you tried to turn the wheels. The wheels actually had to move up and down as the axles turned because the cv's were in such a bind. I removed my kit due to this reason. A 2inch body lift is not worth ruining 700 bucks worth of cv axles to me. The best way to get lift is with the larger tires and that way you actually have more ground clearance under the axles and frame, not just the body. If you lived closer I would give you a great deal on the lift kit if you still wanted it, but shipping would probably be too much. As far as tires go, the mudlites are excellent tires for all types of ground and trails, not just mud. They grip great on slippery terrain such as roots and rock, sand , mud , leaves, hard packed surfaces, everything you can incounter. I have almost 1000miles on the set on my Foreman and they dont even have the dimples worn out on the lugs yet. There are a lot of good tires out there, but I sure like the mudlites. It would be interesting to try a set of radials one day to see if they were any better of a ride or not. Enjoy your Foreman and ride safe!
