Well I think it's time to get a new chain and sprockets...I was just out riding and I had just tightend the chain and I went in a creek with shallow water and came out and while I was going up on the creek bank my chain skipped on the back sprocket. I knew for a while I would need a new chain and sprockets but now I need them fast. The teeth are bent and the chain is worn down.

I need to know what kind of chain and sprockets I should get, O-ring chain??, Racing chain??, Aftermarket sprockets??, Honda made sprockets??
What are better for the 200 SX??

(Why don't I just buy a new ATV since everything is starting to go wrong with it??...LOL)

I bought a RK O ring chain, and a aftermarket front sproket threw the local dealer. The rear sprocket is a honda only item as it has rubber shock pads between the bolt holes. The rear sprocket ran about $70 alone. Always buy a O ring chain otherwise you will be adjusting it every ride.

I heard the racing chain will do as good as the o-ring...only if you get a really good racing chain.

Listen, go to www.denniskirk.com and have them send you a magazine.Aftermarket companies do make rear sprockets for it.My advice would be leave stock gearing, get a heavy duty RK or DID O ring chain and sunstar, moose,or Pro steel sprockets.Get the heavy duty(racing) because the sx is hard on a chain and sprocket.GET THE O RING CHAIN NO MATTER WHAT!!

I ordered the moose and sunstar rear sprockets from dennis kirk, both did not have the same hole pattern and I ened up buying stock after trying another aftermarket co. from the dealer.

If you look the stock chain is a medium duty RK.(If it isn't its not stock)if you buy from Honda you will be buying the Honda name so go with aftermarket.

ya got those adjusters sort out yet

ps. everything breaksdown.......sprockets and chains are general wear items....brakes....the age of the quad doesn't help them......the bike is still worth fixing
