I would call the other dealer you are talking to and ask them how much they would charge to replace that part. 4 hours sounds extremely high. I can completely dismantle any quad that is only 7.5 months old in 4 hours. I would think they could get to this part and have you bike back together in less time.

I think I would trade up to the newer model. You may have ended up with a "lemon." It can happen to machines other than cars, etc. I think 500 up to a new one is pretty reasonable and that dealer sounds like someone better to deal with.

Sound to me that he got stuck with parts replacers, rather than an actual (old school)mechanic!!!
Keep us posted with your decision.

I'm really sorry to hear that you had that kind of a problem with your dealership, that just sucks big time. at our place we have Honda , Polaris , Suzuki and KTM, we have trained pro's for each brand of quad we sell . We to screw up at times but nothing like that.
I sure hope you get your money back and I would also send a letter to Honda themselves because Honda requires that the dealer have a trained certified tech on staff.

so you figured out the problem? that's cool. I would think they would have tried a new cdi box for that problem. What a bunch of idiots, they give good technicians a bad rap.
I hope you have fun riding your ex when you get a new cdi box for it, you should see if that dealer would give you a new cdi box for free for the hassle you went through. But maybe it's best just to try to get your money back and buy a new cdi box.
