Improved Secondary Clutch Spring Tool
#1
Visit your Hardware store. Go to the plumming section and find you a 3" diameter Floor plate that a 1/2" diameter pipe screws into. Get you Four, 2 1/2 or 3" Bolts to fit the 4 holes in the floorplate and secure the bolts to floorplate with a nut on each side (You can drill out holes to accompany whatever bolt & nut you choose). Also find you a straight nipple that fits in the center of the floorplate and drill it out to 1/2 inch. Get you a 1-2 foot section of threaded 1/2 in bolt stock, 3 nuts to fit stock, and a few(4) 2 inch flat washers.
You now got your Secondary Tool for less than $10. Screw 2 nuts together half way down the 1/2" bolt stock so nuts will not turn. Place stock in vise & tighten on the nuts, add 2 flat washers on top of stock, Add Secondary, Add floor plate tool on top of secondary spring, add 2 flatwashers, add nut.
Center 4 bolt heads on floor plate on edge of secondary & Tighten down to depress secondary spring. once Secondary spring is depressed so you can see groove of secondary snap ring, remove snapring with snap ring pliers. You can then release tension on tool/secondary to remove/swap out your secondary spring. Remember to place snap ring in secondary clutch spring retaininer ring before putting on your new seccondary spring removal/install tool and tightening down during the re-assembly.
I'll post a picture of improved tool on my page when I get the chance.

sounds intresting the clutch pulling tool
I'm about to buy a couple of springs for mY KFX 700
will this tool work on that as well?
also you wouldn't happen to have any pictures would ya?
I also hear you do't need one of these if you have an impact wrench correct?
thanks

Very similiar to the one I built Tuff. I think I described to someone in a thread once and promised a pic of it, but forgot to post it. I have the pic now and can throw it up once i get home if anyone's interested.
