MY KFX vs. a stock 450r
#2
I would have to say the 450R. Not dissing the KFX or anything. My friend has one and it runs awesome but i don't believe it would stay with the 450R, maybe with a few more motor modifications you would. You might jump him off the start but in a drag i would have to give it to the R. Don't know much bout either on the trails my friend uses his alot on trails but i have never ridden either on trails so i couldn't tell ya.

In the 330ft the 450r and KFX700 with mods are about even.Just ran last weekend,it came down to who got out of the hole first for the win. After 4 gear the 450r will pull a head. This is the same for a YFZ450 also. Stock 400 anything is not much of race for any of the 450's or 700.

The KFX400 is a great machine, but stock for stock the 450R will easily win. The suspension on the R is much better, meaning you can fly through trails (rutted out or wooped out) a lot faster and not get as tired as fast. On uphill runs especially you cannot match the power of the R with the KFX.
I am curious when we will see the arrival of the KFX450. With all the time they have had to study the 450R and the YFZ450 Im sure they wont put out any lesser of a machine

I to am anxious to the arrival of the new 450's. One thing I see that I wont like is the fact that it wont have E-start. Maybe they should make one of the 450's much more trail orientated with e-start and reverse. Maybe have Kawi make the trail friendly bike, and then have Suzuki make the m/x bike.

I really think this year will be a big one for the sport quad industry.
I would think Suzuki's 450 would be the closest to a race-ready MXer jsut cause they have the Z that is great for trails. I hear Kawi will be dropping the KFX in the future so there 450 might be more trail friendls. I dont understand why they can't make all the 450's more trail friendly just because raceer's are going to mod them anyways. Look at Gust

I own both (Z400 and 450R), and the only place the Z has an advantage is on a real tight trail. The R likes to rev and doesn't like to go slow, where the Z can be lugged down a little (not as much as a 400EX though) and rides better at trail speed.
