Default 250r runs full throttle

I just got an email from servicehonda on my part I ordered. How am I suppose to fix this now in reasonable time? I have had this happen before and it took over 6 months to get a part. Ussually manufactures wont run a part until they have a certain order number of it.

IN REGARDS TO INVOICE NUMBER 230596. THE CLUTCH LIFTER KIT, PART NUMBER
06220-HB9-305, IS ON BACK ORDER. I CHECKED WITH HONDA AND

THERE IS NOT A RELEASE DATE POSTED FOR THIS PART YET. SINCE THIS IS AN OLDER
MODEL, I CANNOT SAY EXACTLY HOW LONG THIS SHOULD TAKE TO

GET IN. IT COULD BE ANYWHERE FROM A COUPLE WEEKS TO A COUPLE MONTHS. IF YOU
WISH TO CANCEL YOUR ORDER WE CAN CREDIT BACK YOUR FULL

AMOUNT TO YOUR CREDIT CARD. SINCE IT IS ON BACK ORDER THOUGH THE ONLY OTHER WAY
YOU CAN GET THIS PART IS IF A SHOP HAS THIS PART IN

STOCK, OTHERWISE IF YOU TRY TO ORDER IT SOMEWHERE ELSE IT WILL BE PUT ON BACK
ORDER THERE TOO. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

That blows, guess we'll have to do it the hard way. See what you can get done with theese individual part numbers.
89 Clutch update kit...
Pressure plate - 22351-HB9-740
Push rod - 22851-HA2-670
Clutch lifter - 22352-HB9-740
Needle Bearing - 91001-147-003
Thrust washer - 90459-360-000

I wouldnt cancel your other order just yet, Try ordering the kit as individual pieces and see what happens. If you get stuck with the other kit I'll buy it from you.
Good Luck

I checked NAC's also before I posted and stated out of stock. I tried individual parts at service honda but they didnt have the washer. I called the local Honda of Warren and had them check for the parts individually and they have them at there warehouse and will be here wendesday for a total of $91. I allready canceled the order friday on the update kit and told them to email or call me if they got one in stock.

Thats good the parts can be had, sucks they cost more seperately. Did you check the part # of the kit through Warren Honda?

they didnt have the upgrade kit either. They were out of stock both local and the warehouse. I didnt ask for what the part number was for the upgrade kit from honda warren but the guy new exactly what I was talking about because he said it was a common problem and they made many of the repairs there.

I got the parts and the clymer book but it doesnt have directions on performing the 89 upgrade clutch kit. Do I follow the clutch mechanism removal directions starting from #9?

2stroke. I assume this is what you meant when you said follow the directions on removing the cover?

Yes, follow the manual to get the cover off. Remove the pressure plate. In the center is where the push rod is.

Inspect the clutch basket and plates. if the tabs on the clutch basket look like ^^^^^^^
this and the tabs in the plates are hooked into the grooves its time to replace that stuff.

As you disassemble the cover put the bolts in a piece of cardboard or on a piece of tape. There are a few different length bolts holding the cover on. You want to make sure they go back into the same holes.
