how can i soften up the suspension on my rancher? the seat has a very stiff cushion compared to my trx300 which has a very soft seat. riding kills my back on the rancher so i want to know what i can do to soften the suspension. my brother had a 99 prairie 300 that had a really soft suspension which made for a nice ride on bumpy trails. thanks for your input on this one. later - dana

My Honda 200 is really stiff too but I can't adjust the shocks. The seat is hard too like you said...I think most Hondas have stiff suspention and seats.

Have you ever sat on a Big Bear, Grizzly or Kodiak...those seats are very soft and great on the back.

Actually it's funny you mention that because a 300 prairie shock will fit on the back of your Rancher. I rode a 2x4 Rancher with the Kawi shock on it and wow what a difference. It will even lift the rear a bit for some frame ground clearance. Thats what I'd buy if I had A Rancher.
