Rancher Recall ..whats up??
#1
My dealer was very helpful and said that I would probably receive a letter from Honda. He said that he recommends that I bring the machine in when they get the kits and have the bolt on piece attached. He said they have sold over 160 Ranchers and has never seen the problem but wants to comply with the recall.
This brings me to the point where I can't help but think this and many recalls are based in CYA for legal reasons, yes weasel lawyers!!!! I had a dipstick replaced on an automobile because someone sued because it didn't have a locking device. We seem to jump all over what seems to be nuisance issues and let companies items (tires) that seem to come apart long after the facts are allegedly knowen. (Hey how about that weasel word allegedly?) No matter how well all the companies make an ATV some Bonehead will drive it off a cliff or in to a concrete wall and somehow the blame is shifted to someone that a lawyer can sue and recover funds from. Hey some of these suits are valid but I for one think this has got out of hand and wonder what happened to common sense and right and wrong!!!
