I thought my carb was dirty so I took it apart and found a white ring laying in there it is called a baffle plate or jet holder depending on who I asked but I want to know what it does because it will not stay in place as soon as I put it on and turn the carb back over it falls off . I am sure that is what it making my quad run a little funny is that this thing is disturbing the fuel flow . I have a bit of hesitation at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle or sputtering going up hill or doing a wheelie

 

The white ring goes over the main jet, its purpose is to hold gas close to the jet, otherwise when doing wheelies or stopping hard, the gas will slosh away from the jet.
