I'm thinking of install a 440 kit in my bike and I have some options:
1- IMS 440 kit
2- PowRoll Kit
3- CT Racing Kit

All include: Sleeve, Piston kit and gasket.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I don't want more than 10.8:1 compression, and I don't want to loose much bottom end.
Do I have to install a new Cam?
What about the Stock XR400 Cam (For keep bottom end)?
Do I need a racing valve springs?

SORRY FOR THAT MANY QUESTIONS.

Thanks for your help.

All those "kits" probably include very similar or the same parts (may use different brands of pistons).

By adding compression you will not lose bottom end, you will gain.

You do not need to install a cam, but you might as well, to match your setup, while you're in there. (the more radical the cam, the more likely you will be able to run pump gas)

With an XR cam with added compression, you will more than likely notice a boost throughout the power range.

A stock XR cam will not require new valve springs or hardened rockers.

I run:

10.8:1 87mm (416cc) JE piston
XR400 Cam
Ported head
XR250 Rev box
Stock exhaust & carb

Yep, that's me....

I haven't messed with my clutch yet, time will tell if that's necessary & to what extent...

Do you know the specs on the xr400 cam? I was curious of the difference between it and the drop in webb cam.

I believe the XR cam and the web 450/451 grind are essentially the same, although I would have to check to be sure. I think I have the specs in my computer at home.

That would be great. I have one more TT race in the series I run in. I'm planning on building a 440 after that. Just thought I'd try not to spend unnessesary money.

I just got my 440 stroke and bore back from Powroll yesterday and the thing runs great, rite now is their slow time time so if you send them your stuff they'll most likely have a quick turn around time on it.Pam does know her 4 stokes.Worked 440 do you have any recommendations for sprocket sizes(I go to the dunes mostly).
