I always get my hopes up just to get shot down when Honda finally releases their "mystery" machines for the next year. I don't think its going to happen! I'm going Raptor, again.

When dirt wheels had their raptor vs predator shoot out, they said the raptor toped out at 73 mph. In the D.W. outlander review they said it went 75 mph. They said it flat out destroyed the kawi ute in exceleration {6-7 lengths}. I would think in a drag race it would beat a 660 carborated raptor {they are nothing special anyway}, it is a fuel injected twin cylinder 800 rotax after all.

 

Even though a stock 660 isn't too impressive, I so seriously doubt an 800lb. utility would even come close to it. As for the 660 being nothing special, you obviously never came across a piped Raptor with proper jetting (most of them aren't).

 

Dirt wheels says the bomb 800 weighs 639 pounds. And puts out 68 hp to the wheels. A stock 660 raptor puts out 38 hp to the wheels . Soooooo if I were you I wouldn't race a bomb 800, with your raptor, unless you like getting beat by a ute. Oh yeah, both my shee's eat modded raptors for breakfast.

 

639lbs? That is pretty impressive. I guess I was thinking it was more like the Polaris........
...........As for your Shee, you better put some paddles on that thing cause my nothing special piped Raptor beat EVERYTHING that didn't have em and I was on totally stock tires. This incudes modded Shees my friend. Everything that is but a $10K DS650 but it was a lot closer than he would have liked it to be.

 

Around here we drag race on pavement. When I race raptors, I'm usually at top speed before the raptors shift into 5th. A modded 700r might be a different story. I'd love to find out.

 

This rumor has been around for a while now. And I haven' seen anything happend YET so time will tell. Even though Wes Miller and his squad worked and made a quad based on the dirtbike's 650 engine and raced it in the baja races. They did a pretty good job! I would love to see this 650 happend, but I thought it. The rumor has been around long enough, that the would off had it up in there line up already.

 

Thank you for backing my facts. It seems the azz hole basset can't accept the fact a utility would crush his little Raptor.
And my Z 400 has beaten a stock raptor. I over took it with my higher gearing.
