Default Need honest help on purchase of 1996 200trx

I have a small petite wife who wants to start trail riding and mud riding with me. I have found a 1996 200 trx in great condition for $1100. My question is is this a good price, and will this be plenty of 4 wheeler for her? She is 5'6" 111 lbs.

tzhill@bellsouth.net

thanks, zach

I have a 1991 that I paid 1400 for two years ago. It was a great quad for my 13 year old son to learn how to ride on. Very low CG. Mine had approximately 600 mile on it when I bought it and was like new. My son has grown and rides a Rancher but still rides it from time to time. Even I like taking it on the trai once and a while because it is lite and easy to manever through this trail compared to my Ruby. The only two negative thigs I will say are it is not a modern quad since its design dates back to 1990, and that it probably won't exceed 40 (guess) mph and it will feel like it. So if you like to go fast she will have a hard time keeping up. Also since it is two wheel drive it is notmeant for deep mud.

I have the 1990 TRX200, it needs a little work at the moment but it is a fun, little quad. Mud machine it is not.

The best thing to look at is resale. Can you ride it for a few years and resale it for 1100? If you can then buy it and ride it free. On ebay about any quad will sell for at least 800. ANY QUAD. running or not .

If you figure it will resale at 800 minimum then it will cost 300 to ride it a few years. pretty good deal.
