It really depends in what form Honda releases it. No doubt in stock form, it will be tame to meet emissions. There has been a lot of aftermarket hop up components for this engine as it is very popular with the Baja crowd. It certainly would meet Honda's reputation for delivering reliability.

My 450R hung with the 700 this weekend just fine. The 700 had a Two Brothers pipe on it also. I figured the 700 to be faster then it was.

 

Is tomorrow the big day? I am anxious to see how honda is going to respond to the big bore sport market... Anybody know what time they will announce?

 

fast440 In stock form the 650 has 32-34 h/p, so it's not a real fast runner out of the box, but just like with any other motor it will respond well to a higher comp. piston, cam, carb., exhaust, etc. and run with the other stuff out there. I'm sure Honda would do several changes and a tweak here and there to have it up to par to meet the competition if they go for it. As far as how my bike does vs. Rappys, 450's etc.
I can run with alot of the built up motors out there,but take my share of losses as well.

When I was searching around the net, I read that the 650R (10:1 compression version as there is a different version ~8:1) has 43 hp stock with the easy potential of 55 unrestricted.
