You would be better starting a new thread. Rubicons (except brand new ones) have a CVT transmission with 5 speed override, so a totally different set up to the manual ES, which is simply an electric motor doing the foot change for you. I have worked on quads for over ten years and a Rubicon gearchange problem is the only one I have sent to a Honda dealership to get fixed. It could be as simple as the angle sensor gone wrong, or as complex as a faulty ECU.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I have been having a hell of a time getting my 2016 DCT Rubicon into reverse. I'd say 60% of the time, the quad will go right into reverse, but the other 40%, I have to press the downshift button a couple of time. I replaced the shift motor, had the dealer look over everything, and still... it does it. Please help!

I haven't worked on the new DCT autos, but I think they use the, pull the handbrake on to reverse like all the ES and manual Hondas. If so, the cable to the lock-out may need adjusting, particularly if you have set the handbrake adjuster a bit tight.
