Default 250x problem

Ok guys I need some help. I just replaced my chain because my other one broke and its on. When the chain broke it all got clogged up in the front drive sprocket. Now when I start to pull off in 1st gear the chain is pulled to the right(maybe because it is too tight?) and I think it rubs on the swingarm and it grinds down the rubber guider/slider(the long one on the top). Now I think its the front drive sprocket because I can pull and push it, it has some play. Not too much but enough to cause this problem.

Can anyone tell me whats wrong and how to fix it. DO I need to ben the slider back to position because the chain doesnt even sit in the center of it. It sits a little to the right of the center. Do I need to tighten up something? If so, how and what. Thanks in advance.

Mike

I have exact same machine bought it new in 87. What your discribeing is identical to mine. The front sprocket is suppose to move some and as far as the chain rubbing on the glider thats normal are you sure your skid plate is not bent up to close to the chain as it comes off front sprocket slack should be 1 3/8 to 1 3/4 of a inch. A loose chain is better then a tight one. To tight you wear parts quick. Would you be interested in selling your machine?
