You sure about that?
I hear what you're saying and I've heard the same. But it is covered under my homeowners if it is on my property - and it is used on the property. I have experience with that thanks to a thief. It's because it services the property - so it is covered like my lawn tractor.

Someone stole my Polaris Indy 400 years ago. They paid replacement cost plus sales tax (no deductible either) on that value because I dragged a sled with hay and logs in the winter - servicing the property. The other way they will cover an RV is if it services the handicap.

I am not aware of any clauses for how secure it is - that's too subjective. If you step off it to go in the house for a drink and someone comes out of the woods and steals it right out from under you the insurance shouldn't pay because it wasn't chained down or locked up in a garage?

You should ask your insurance agent. I did and I'm glad I did.

Maybe your insurance is different, but I know through experience that my homeowners covers it on my property.

Buy a plugger or fertilzer spreader and take a picture of you using it in the yard. Then it is covered under most homeowners policies. Call your rep to make sure though. That is what they told me. As long as it is used in the yard for work its covered.
