what do you mean build my own wouldnt that cost way more and plus i have no experience building atv's what so ever and question still stands would i have to pay tax?

 

I can't help you on the taxes but the blaster would be a great choice for a starting bike. I bought mine a '95 for only $750 so you will find a good deal on one every now and then, they are not much for torque but they are very peppy for the size and a plus side on the size is you can pitch them around very easly because they are so light.
A note on the taxes: try to disguise it, before you go across take it for a ride and get it a little dirty so it don't look showroom new.

 

yamaha sucks hondas are way esier to work on.and they are just as lite.honda os a better built bike for the money

 

very good idea hondarulesinnc and 300ex look i told you i wont have to much money and honda's just cost more ok now for the upgrades lets say i buy a blaster how much do ussual mods cost and how much preformence will i see from them?

Edit: also what about the 250ex only seems to be $200 more?

I would look for an old 250x, mabye an old banshee Ive never been fond of the blaster and its lame oil injection system

The blaster is a good bike. The oil injection sucks, but you can always block it off and mix manually.

Im not brand loyal... (I currently own a Honda street bike, Yamaha banshee, and Kawasaki KX500)

But as far as hondas build quality compaired to yamahas, My banshee has been GREAT.
My 400EX's were great. BUT... 250EX's A-Arm metal is about as thin as tin foil......and its expensive.

Well thing is when im going to buy the atv im going to be in canada (ontario toronto area) and not many people sell atv's that are from canada so finding a good priced some what old banshee might be somewhat hard so i might even be looking to buy a new 1 but that would mean my crossing the boarder to the states and trying to not to get charged the taxes but i guess even if i didnt get charged id still get it cheaper. Ok so between a new blaster and a new 250ex which is better?

 

Blaster. 2 stroke, manual clutch, 6 speed,

250ex is automatic clutch, 4 stroke, ect. not nearly as much fun.

And both are probably equally durable.

I would say blaster, without a doubt.
