Rancher recall

Has anyone had trouble getting their Ranchers fixed for the a-arm recall problem? My dealer sayes he only gets a couple of set of parts per week, and they go quickly. He also has many Ranchers in stock that they are using the parts for. Sounds fishy to me. They want me to bring the ATV in and leave it until the parts arrive, depriving me of riding, while waiting on parts.
He also knows nothing, nor has he received anything from HOnda, relating to the "shift plate" problem recall. Has anyone heard anything on this; is it fact or fiction??
THANKS!

honda is having some supply problems with vendors in regards to the brackets, and as for the shift plate, or whatever, they are waiting to see how many customers are affected before they announce a "product upgrade, " parts affected by the shift have already been replaced in inventories, and make alot of noise if you want honda to hear you.

Snowshark,
Your dealer must be smoking crack. Mine told me that they are using all of the parts that they recieve first to upgrade their instock quads. I then told them to put me on a repair list and call me when the part gets in and they told me that I had to bring in my recall letter from Honda first and who knows when I will recieve it.

I have had a Honda, or Hondas, in my garage, barn and sometimes my living room for the past 30 years.
I own a Rancher ES 4x4 (2001) orange, any problems are in a 2% number range, that honda will make right anyway. I like my Rancher, and if I had it to do over, I'd buy another. If it does as well as the TRX300 it replaced, then old geezer that I am, this will be the machine I'll be ramping at the front lawn of the old folks home.

Jaw,
You wouldn't like the Rancher. You probably would like to get something that was second or third runner up in the shoot out. It only won its class this past year. You might be happy with someother brand that is more reliable, Oh thats right Honda are still the most reliable & have best resale.
