Default Warn 424 on rancher

do any of you have the 424 on your rancher? i am fixing to buy a 2001 honda rancher 4x4 manual shift. i was thinking about buying the warn 424 to put on it,but i am concerned about the quality of the product. i am wondering if this cable will "wear out" quickly or last a long time cause i dont want to get in the situation of having my front end messed up or not working. i just dont want to put it on there and 6 months to a year later have my front end tore up where the 4x4 doesnt even work. any input would be appreciated

on over 2 years, has 2500 miles on it, had issues with the unit not locking twice due to dirt after cleaning fine, nothing yet needing replacement, best investment next to quad itself

i have to clean the **** thing you pull on once in a while, there are little ball bearing things in there that get gummed up with dirt and then it wond lock into 2wd, but that's fine because if for some reason the **** broke, the springs down by the axle push it back into 4wd by default. That is really a cool fail-safe thing the engineers put into the design. if the cable or the **** mechanism breaks at all, it pops back into 4x4, to get you out of the woods.
