2 Honda's Stolen on 11-5-05 !!!! Help!!!
I will tell you one thing that might get these covered under your homeowners policy. If they are used in the maintainance of your property then they could be covered. This would be no diff than a riding lawn mower.SO,,,,if you used them to work on your yard or whatever this might get you coverage. If you do get this covered for gods sake get insurance on the next ones. These things get stolen way too often. We just had a group staying at the new place in Tenn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the Coal Creek Rec area................and their whold damn rig was stolen......Diesel Super Duty Ford, enclosed trailer and 3 Kodiaks. They did however catch these dic$hea$ss!!!!!!!

homeowners won't cover it because you can get atv ins., that is the same thing as a motorcycle to them.
i was going to add ins. to them next month actually, but i wanted to get the oil changed in both first....that cost me $300....2 DAYS BEFORE THEY WERE STOLEN!!! AND I ALSO HAVE $250 IN PARTS THAT I BOUGHT TO PUT ON THEM, JUST SITTING HERE IN A BOX. never had a chance to do anything.

ATVs are a motorized vehicle with their own title. Therefore, homeowners insurance won't cover them, any way you slice it.
I'm surprised Honda finance didn't make you prove you had them insured within thirty days of insuring them. Last time I bought an atv (Suzuki Vinson in '04), I had to prove it was insured before the dealer let me load it on the trailer, per Suzuki finances instructions. I had to do the same thing when I bought my Honda motorcycle last summer-same dealership.

Well without getting too crazy about this, they CAN be covered.I will not say who but I work for an insurance company in the claims dept and have seen them paid n the past IF they were used for maintaining the grounds.
Since he did not go that route in the first place this may not be an option now.

I have had insurance with Nationwide for the past 24 years. I currently have 17 policies with them. They won't even insure an atv in my neck of the woods.

I specifically asked my NW agent if it was covered on my homeowners when I bought it. I told her I was going to use it around the yard, she said as long as it was on the property. But when she told me $125 for comp with $100 deductible I couldn't afford not to insure it full time on its own. It's going up $10 this year, but I'm still going to renew.
I had a snowmobile stolen from an open face shed on the property and they covered it, replacement cost. I told her I dragged wood on a sled in the winter with it.
