Default 2003 HONDA 400EX question

Hi folks, I'm new to the Honda quad scene. I bought my son a Honda crf dirt bike, 1st the 70, then 80, now have him on the 120, and they never let me down, so I was impressed w/ their quality. I bought my other boy a cheap quad new for about 800 that has been nothing but problems Kazuma. Anyways, I was looking for something for myself, and found a 03 400 EX in really good condition(as far as I can tell), for $1,500. Ive seen others advertise higher than this. Is it a good buy in your folks opinion? I'll have to drivea long way to grab it, but that's o.k. if ya think it's a worthwhile trip for that price. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!! Bill.

I would say that's almost a "too good to be true" price for an 03. If you know it's legitimate, I'd definitely go for it. Be careful otherwise, especially if it's on eBay. There are lots of quad/ATV scams going on there right now.

I agree, that it seems too good to be true.
Its either totally trashed or a scam, stolen, or a chance of a lifetime.
It isnt even posible to get a 2003 250ex for that price.

I have never seen a 400EX for that. It should be somewhere North of $3,500.

Default 2003 HONDA 400EX question

He had the add on "monkey adds" I saw it shortly after it posted, and emailed him. He wants me to pay via tradeitsecure.com which I have never heard of, but he said he will ship it out to me(he's paying freight) and I have 4 weeks to drive it and decide I want it, then I go back to that site, and they release the funds to him. I dont want to miss this opportunity, as he describes it as "mint" condition. Here I'll C&P his reply to me. Tell me what you guys think........

I am glad you are interested to buy the bike. It is a great bike, in mint condition. I love it, but I must sell it now because I got a better job offer in Europe and I must leave the country ASAP.
I am selling it for a low price because I must close the deal soon, since I am leaving in 4 weeks and I want to ship it before I leave.

The bike has been very well maintained.
It has been garage kept, as you can see in the pictures. The bike is kept so clean that I did not clean it up at all before taking pictures. No paint scratches, nothing. The bike is in mint condition. The bike has never been dropped.

If you want more pictures with the bike please let me know.

If you decide to make the purchase,we can close the deal using a very safe payment method:an escrow service,to protect both of us.Here is the link:www.tradeitsecure.com.Please visit http://www.tradeitsecure.com/index.php?go=howItWorks and see that it is easy and also trustable.I am already a member, you can check my rating using my email address.I prefer to use a third party for the transaction because is safer and also because since i am preparing to move,i have a very busy schedule these days.

If you decide to close the deal using www.tradeitsecure.com,you will be able to inspect the bike up to 30 days before they will release the funds to me.They will secure your deposit and in case you want to return it, they will refund the amount.

I will cover the escrow fees and shipping costs.I can ship with Fedex Freight or yellow Freight.

Please let me know if you agree to these terms, so we can initiate the process

id say a big time scam! dont get your self in trouble if you cant see it in person or give them the cash then dont do it. i almost bought a brand new harley on ebay for $5000 but right before i bought it the auction got closed and later to find out it was a stolen bike from england. close call of waisting 5000 bucks. but then again this is my expirence so think twice.

Ask if you can inspect the bike in person. If he hesitates walk away. I personally think the whole thing is a scam. He could walk into a any dealer and get 2500 cash right now so I don't buy this guys story a bit.
