Lift springs are OK, the ones from highlifter have a higher spring rate, which is great for carrying heavier loads, but will make the ride stiffer then stock (and we know our bikes already ride stiff!!!!) They replace the stock springs using the stock shocks.
The progressive suspension 512's advertise a 1" gain but a softer ride (on the softer setting) and 5 way adjustability and seem to be a good investment.
Dont use either of these with a lift kit, it will way over extend the angles of the rear shaft, and front CV 1/2 shafts.
I dont actually reccomend any lift when using bigger tires due to the stress added to the 1/2 shafts working at extreme angles. Dunno if you'll clear 28's stock or with only 1", but 27's fit fine either way.
Too bad noone has designed a real lift kit like they do for trucks that drop the entire suspension to get lots of lift and keep steering and axle geometry the same. I'd get 4" and go to 30's if you could do it!!!

i have got a 2" lift on mine already and i just put some 28" mudzillas and there is a little rub on the fender but not too bad they fit just fine but im gonna need more power now so i can turn these heavy tires.. i thought about gettin those 30" mudlights but i thought it might be to much...thanks for the info man... it helps

I was gonna get 27" Zillas for my 450, but after riding my buddies 450 with 26" Zillas I'm going to get Mud Bugs instaead. The zillas are heavier anyway, but they load up with much more bog which makes them extremly hard to spin in 2nd gear. We dont have much mud here, all peat bog...very slimy and heavy.
