Default Mechanical Problems 02' 400ex

hey whats up was just wondering if anyone could tell me if they have heard of any problems with an 02' 400ex. Going to buy one from a dealer down here. he says the bike is pretty sound. No engine mods to speak off. The engine still has that new factory humm, anyways it looks awsome and hardly used, just wondering if there are any issues that will arise after alot of use. Plan on doing nothing but riding this spring and summer. Thanks for reading, any tips or comments would be appreciated. thanks again

I did a BUNCH of research before I bought. I found that the 400 EX is pretty much bullet proof. I went out and bought my wife one. She loves it. Her's is a 02' too.

My wife's ride!

The 400ex's are one of the most reliable quads out there. And I wouldn't buy a quad with motor mods anyways, sounds like a good buy to me.

400ex has the highest fun factor for the money IMO especially when you include ongoing maintenance. Replacement parts for the Honda are way less than the other manufacturers. The 400ex is bulletproof too so may never let you down. Personally, I've had 3 of them starting in 2001 and have never had to tow any of them back to camp.

You can get the already lower priced Honda parts for 30% off list from several places. An example is an upper a-arm for an OTD price of $36 or a lower a-arm for $55. Look up an a-arm for any of the Yamaha's and see what the price is.

I agree. The 400ex's are pretty reliable and there is a ton of aftermarket support.
