Default Choose a Rubicon over everything else! Thanks for the Help

1st Post - http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...ould%20i%20buy

Hello everyone who has replied to my 1st post about what I should buy......I know its been months since I have talked back but my computer was down and I didnt have the money to fix it....well I have fixed it and since then bought my ATV!

I picked the 2005 Honda Rubicon over the Rancher AT and Outlander 800/400.....and I love it!!!!

I picked it up 11/23/05 and paid $8000.00 with tax title, fees, and 26" ITP Mudlite XTR's installed on factory rims + a free camo bag kit for rear rack, gas tank, and drop down bag.

I could have gotten a better deal at another atv shop but I couldnt get approved thru them so I spent about 500 more and went to another atv shop.

I am so happy with this ATV....I have about 2 or 3 other 98 Honda Foreman guys that want to buy a ruby!

I love how smooth it is very very smooth....plus i love the 2wd/4wd selector, the low gears are ausome.

2nd week I had it was hunting week for Ohio and one night as a group doing a drive we took 4 avg size does....so we used my ruby to see what it was like.

We put the wagon, 4 deer, 3 200+ men and I put it in Low Range ESP 1 and it took us out of the woods just fine...1 thing the woods was about 65 degree uphill all the way out.

We loved it

I have about 35hours on it since I bought it. Changed the oil on hour 22 and have added about 1/4 tank of coolent.

Love it so much....I am going to be putting a power kit on it soon.

My buddy has a Kaswisiki bruteforce and its nice but to much front end power and it sits way way to high + its belt or chain driven i forget but it messed up during all the snow and rain we had a couple days of hunting.

and its independant suspension so when 2 guys rode it out of the woods one day in deeper ruts it bottomed out very bad. both arms in the back were aiming the opposite direction.

I may need to put a lift kit or big foot kit on it If i go riding i drug bottom a couple times with 2 people but seldom when i as alone.
Plus i wish honda keep the old front bumper they had on the 98 foreman's the new bumper on these 05 rubys are cheap and easly bent i bumped into a tree and it bent it, its no big deal just the metal is cheap.

Well anyways I love it !!!!!!!

post ur opinion of your ruby thanks

Congrates !

I bought a 05 Rubicon 2 weeks ago! and LOVE it !!!!!

My buddie has a 04 Foreman, and hes a bit green with envy.
The Rubicon changes gears sooooooo smooth its unbelievable.
Seems to have plenty of power, pretty responsive.

We were in some wet mud, but in a drag race, my Rubi stomped his Foreman.

D1 mode is also great, I didnt expect to like it that much, but it does a great job,
I use it on trials alot, and ESP on faster trails, and the street.
D1 seems to stay in lower gears, keeping the RPMs up.

I hear you shouldnt use D2 much,
its for rock crawling and such, and makes the clutch slip alot, so you have easier starts,
but that can damage it over time.
D1 seems fine for crawling also, so its alllll good.

What is this Power Kit you are thinking of adding?

Bowler,

Congrats on the Rubi purchase! I love mine and I can't think of one thing that disappoints me about this atv. The tranny is second to none IMO... and the engine brake is incredible. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine.

In ESP mode....not 100%sure. In D1 the Rubicon will beat the Foreman in a drag....no doubt. I am also pretty sure a Rube is a bit faster all the way around including top end. I can actually beat the old style Rubicons as well (04 and older)with my CTE quite easy, although I don't necessarily think continueous drag racing with ute quads is all that cool. I bought mine mainly for work on the farm and it's a real workhorse for sure.

Yeah, i know probably 90% of the people that buy their Foremans do not even think of drag racing them against there buddy's but i was just curious, since they are both in the 500 Class, but anyways thanks.

Yeh! they are both in the 500 class, but the Foreman is actually 25cc smaller, and is not liquid cooled, so it obviously does not make quite as much hp and torque ( both bikes about 600 lbs.). That tranny in the Rube really gives it an advantage as well, it is an engineering marvel. The Foreman is an absolute excellent machine as well though and it is neat to compare bikes in the same class, as I have always preferred comparing apples to apples. Comparing a 500cc to a big bore is not all that interesting, even though people do. I would never compare my 500cc machine to one with 300cc.
