jus wondering is there any place where you can look up the exact age of a honda atvs the reason why iam asking this is because i bought a 450 foreman inspring2004 and and was told it was a 2000 bike no i am in the process of trying to sell it but iam told its an 1998 bike because its got the letter "W" in de middel of the serial no. on the chassis so when i confronted the guy who sold it to me he saya that that only tells you year of manafacture no year of registration.also where is a good place to look up prices of 2nd hand hondas any info would be greatly app..

Do you have a title or Certificate of Origin for this ATV? Either would have the correct year on them.

 

the year it is manufactured in is what year it is.gegistration you can do anytime after you buy a atv. registration date means nothing except when he decided to go to the bmv to make it legal to ride on public land. if you had your own land you wouldnt even need to get it registered.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

That really depends on which state you live in.
Here in Washington every new quad bought at a dealer is automatically registered with the state DMV and a title and registration is issued.

 

thats not fair is it? why get it registered fo private land i already own? just another way to squeeze alittle more money from people.

 

Post the VIN and I will tell you what year it was manufactured. The number will be see from the front where the suspension comes together near the middle. You might have to look in behind some of the plastic. The VIN standards are very similar to vehicles.

 

The tenth digit or letter in the Vin number is the year of manufacture. Then go here (VIN#) to find out what year it is.

In CA if you own a small pond on your property, you have to register your rowboat, and have a fishing license, to catch your own fish you planted.

In Ohio you need the title, or MSO on older quads that didn't have a title, if you want to buy the sticker to ride on public lands. If you buy from a dealer and get a title and pay sales tax, it's about $8.00 for a 3 year sticker. If you buy from an individual, you'll pay the tax when you transfer the title to your name at the title office. If you have an older quad with an MSO, they'll charge you sales tax when you go to buy your sticker.
