Honda has done a very confusing thing on their ranchers when they changed the filters on some of the models. What makes it so confusing is that on some of the models the rubber grommet goes to the outside and on some of the models the rubber grommet goes to the inside depending upon the particular model and I have one of each model. They are different filters also. Some aftermarket filters do not have it written on them, which side is out.
