What locknut on what gear box? The only nut I can think of thats anywhere near 60mm is the locknuts for the axle. You ask about rebuilding the rear end so I'm assuming the axle locknut is what your referring to. Honda has two special tools that fit the axle nut and lock nut but can be removed w/ a cresent wrench. I can get you the part numbers for the tools Saturday, I'm off tomorrow.

it's the nut inside the gear box that holds the bearing in place for the drive shaft. you can see it in a exploded parts picture.

You can get it OFF with the knuckle busters, but that beast can't be properly reinstalled without the specialty honda tool and a torque wrench. With the tool, you know exactly how much the torque is multiplied by (the lever length), so you can calculate how to set/read your wrench. my $.02. You could always make a one-time-user with steel plate and an angle grinder

sounds like a plan. or i could just take the damn piece to a honda shop and ask if they could romove the piece for me and pay them(if it's not my arm or leg) to install the new bearing. thanks - dana
