Default 250x clutch slipping

i recently put a new clutch in my 87 250x and it is still slipping. i put new discs, new springs and a new cable on it. and it just wont grab, actually it does ok 1st through 3rd but 4th and 5th slip pretty good. should i just throw another set of plates in and see what that does? any other ideas?

Is there any freeplay in the clutch cable? Did you soak the new friction plates in oil before installing?
