Default 400ex problem need help

i have a 01 400ex. the problem i have is that the long oil filter cover bolt snapped off when i was trying to changer the oil. how do i fix this problem so that i can get it to hold oil and not worry about leaking. do i have to take the engine apart to get the part of the bolt out of the case or is there another way. any help would be very appreciated.

Ouch, thats gonna be tuff. How much bolt came out? I doubt you will be able to drill and easy out, that small.

Default 400ex problem need help

the part of the bolt that tightens down in the case to hold the oil cap closed it the part that broke off. that means that the threaded part is still in the case. remember this is the long bolt that i am talking about. putting a new one in there will not work because the threads are still in there so a new one wouldnt tighten down. i think that i will have to take the whole side of the engine off to get that part out then get a new bolt but i would like to know if there is a better way. can anyone help me

You shouldn't have to tear the motor apart. and EZ out to get the rest of the bolt out. if that works you will prolly have to re-drill the hole and put a heli coil in there. I had to do that to all of my head bolts when i bored mine out. hope this helps.
