Default foreman dying

I jut took my new 06 Honda 5oo foreman out and when i downshift from 5th gear to 4th, the bike completely shuts down. Its almost like when the revs go up when you downshift it dies. Any explanation for this???

I am wondering if its a rev limiter or something, but it shouldn't kill the engine right?

Definately bringing it back to the shop. I was wondering if this was a common problem with these?

Nope, its not common.
How the gas level? Is the tank almost empty? How does it idle? Could also be a low float level in the carb.

This bike is brand new...like 2 hours on it...the tank is full. I took it out again today and same thing...when i downshifted from 5th to forth...it died. I would say it idles fine mabye a bit low that it will stall sometimes on warm idle. I will find out tomorrow when i bring it back to the shop.
