Does the 06 Rincon REALLY Have Engine Braking???
#1
I have a friend thinking about a Rincon. One of the fatal flaws of this machine was that it had no engine braking at low speed, which made it useless for negotiating any kind of steep, technical downhills. A couple years ago, a guy here in the forum bought one, but sold it quickly after discovering this on his first ride.
Anyway, I read a review that said this situation was improved on the 06. Just looking for some actual input from 06 owners. Thanks!

I read it was improved but because of the nature of the auto. type it still only holds to around 10 mph. Mine keeps it between 12-14 which requires a little braking when going down a steep hill, keeping it in 4 WD seems to help. For the same price have him look at the Outlander 650, low gear, definate engine braking and a bit more stable ride.

Yes it has engine breaking. Nothing like a Forman or Rancher though. It just takes some getting used to. I go down hills just fine with mine.
Yes a Bomb 650 has great engine breaking but it is not as stable as a Rincon and neither is the 800. I have ridden both.
