Okay, Came in late, but just wanted to get something straight. Air filters do not add 2-3 horsepower. He probably meant 1/2 or 1/3 of a horsepower unit. My bro's does about 49 with 20"-ers on the back. (For anybody who cares.)

 

I could agree with that. airfilter did nothing on my bike. if you add 3 hp on an atv, it would be the difference like adding about 30hp to your car. alot!

 

I have an 01 250ex with a HMF full driiled out air box stock filter and in 4th gear i do about 45 on rock cover pavement and ive got a trail-tech computer so if i go for another ride before i get my TRX450r ill tell u what the top speed is

ok listen..i have an 05' trx 250ex sportrax...about 5 months ago, i ran it out in an old field..me and my friend, he was on a rancher, i had stock tires on it, which EVERYONE here forgot to mention, tires have to do alot with the speed, i had stock tires, we raced, his speed-om. was flickering between 57-59 and i was about half-length in front of him, leaned down. last month, i put some ITP Holeshots on it for acceleration racing [short track] and i topped it out at 53mph.bigger tires are slow acceleration and high top end, [btw its driveshaft driven, not chain.] and smaller tires are high acceleration and lower top end, which i take off extremely fast now, i raced my friends ttr-230 today, yes, i got whipped very badly in long run, but in short run, we were neck-to-neck..he has slow acceleration with his huge tires, but all im here to say, is that the trx250ex will go WAYY faster than 45 like that other guy mentioned..and overall, i ride hard, very hard, and the 250ex holds up very well, its an awesome fourwheeler.

 

the 250 ex is as slow as crap i had a flat tire when i got clocked - i went 48 and i was just pushing it over and over and it kept on doing only 48 if my tire wasnt flat prob 50 oh and i have a hmf full exhuast so thats all ur guna get out of that peice of junk 50 nothing over 52 id think!
