My friend has a 2003 Honda Recon and hasn't been running right for a while now when you hit the throttle it seems to cut out and begins to die. So I took the carb apart and cleaned it all out and still nothing do you think it could be that the float in the carb needs adjusting or adjust the valves.

Have you adjusted the idle screw on the carb yet? My wifes did the same thing because of low idle.I would also check for air intake restriction(if filters clean,leave the airbox lid off and ride to see if it's better that way)hope this helps..
