Rincon Quits in water
I have a 2004 650. i like to hit the water once and a while. THe bike dies after a few seconds with the exhaust under the water. The airbox and seat are also submerged, the intake is still above the water. NOt sure if running the vent lines to the steering pod will help? It seems to be getting rich. THe bike will restart in the water, but it only idles give it throtttle and it will quit. have to blow on the left hand vent line then it works again........

Keep it in first gear and keep the revs up. Also important is to get a tube of di-electric grease and apply to the spark plug boot to keep water out, also do the ignition wires going to the coil (follow the spark plug wire to find the coil.) When my bike was new I took apart EVERY electrical connection and coated them with a little di-electric grease and i've never had a problem with the bike stalling or a light not working during or after deep water crossings.

alright, first off ATVs are not"bikes" bikes have 2 wheels and unless your dumb atv's have 4, ok? second, when you go in the water, its possible a little bit of water is goin in the intake, although you say its out of the water. also if the airbox is damp or wet you got water in it, make sure you check your oil after your atv dies in the water because water and oil dont do good together. i recall one time when i when through deep water and it quit and i had to have my buddy tow it home atnd when we looked the oil air intake tube was off, so make sure you look to see everythings connected properly

tymann09 is just pumping hot air out his mouth and has no idea what he is talking about. If you don't have a Rincon, then you don't know what you are talking about.
First thing
1. Move all your vent lines up to your handle bar. Even the ones into the frame.
2. Vent the 2 carb vent lines up to the handle bar.
3. De-electrical all you connections..yes all of them
This will get rid of your water problems. If you really want to have fun in the water, snorkle it. I did !!!
That's another thread to start up.

oh, im sorry for expressing my opinion.. and i do happen to know what im talking about because on my quad, the exact thing happened to me and my quad didnt work, but guess what, i got it to.... and in my OPINION bikes have 2 wheels and quads have 4, however, i do admit i did overreact a little, and i apologize for that, but, i disagree that "if you dont have a rincon then you dont know what your talking about" because there are similar quads out there, not the same but similar, engine wise

Yes your right, every engine is almost the same, but after we finish talking about the head/pistion/rings.ect...then things start to change. Tranny....let's not even go there because there isn't another one on the market that has a torque converter. Electrical is another thing on each bike that work different in some way. The Recon and the Rincon are two different bikes altogether, the engines are even facing a different way. You'll never hear me talking about how to fix something on a Recon because I have no idea about how that bike works, I have never even sat on one before, so I would say that I would look stupid talking about something that I don't even own.
Ask me about the Rincon, thats my expertise......... period
Just my 2 cents and my opion
