300ex binding problems
#1
While the atv is in motion it makes a poping noise, and it also makes the atv jerk.It feels like something is binding. I put it on a jackstand and it continued to do the same thing. I took the chain off and the jerking stopped. Can anyone help me? I'm not sure what it is!

sounds like the rear spocket is warn and you need a new one. maybe the front but more then likely the rear. you should get a new chain with the new spocket or your old chain will wear the new sprocket out faster.

I tend to agree with it being the rear sprocket or chain.
Being TOO loose can cause this popping sound.
A wore rear sprocket and/or chain can cause this popping sound.
If the chain & sprockets appear to be in good shape still, it may be caused from lack of lubrication in the chain. The chain can be soaked in diesel fuel which will loosen it up. While it's in the diesel, work the chain in every direction you can to break the crud up and help things go a bit faster. Then ....let the chain sit in the diesel overnight.
After letting it sit over night, soak it in gasoline to remove the diesel [oils]. Dry it with an air compressor [outside as it will throw stuff EVERYWHERE]
Next....put it back on the bike, add a good coat of chainlube as you spin the wheels.
If it does nothing for the popping sound, I recommend getting a new chain & sprocket set.
