Just give them time and I think they will release something great and innovative. Just like the 400EX all over again. Not to be rude, but think about it. The 400EX was released late 1998/early 1999, and they have only been producing it for 3 years now. They like to spend a lot of time on R&D. If Honda, or any company for that matter released a new quad like that every year, they would start to become junk. They just want to make sure it's a good product, and competitive against it's predecessors. Just my opinion.

You haven't ridden the Raptor or you certainly would not choose a 400, they can't keep up.
The modified 440 power ends where the Raptor begins. It will never beat it.
The 400 does handles slightly better stock than the stock Raptor but only because Yamaha put a narrow axle on the back. Change the axle to even the 400's width and they handle the same only the Raptor has 12hp more.
I hope you do buy a 400 and make sure you bring it to the track, I still have room for more trophys.
01 Raptor
Renthal Bar
DuraBlue extended axle +5
TB A-Arms +3, +1
TCS zero-preload shocks

from all of my observations watching the Raptor drag race 250R's and 400ex's at Silver Lake Sand Dunes, a 440ex absolutely destroyed a Raptor in a drag race..so I don't know how you can get off saying a 440ex is no match for a Raptor, especially when you think about the horsepower that a well built 440 is capable of putting out compared to the stock Raptor power, which is 38 hp to the wheels if I'm not mistaken.
