The Stock Raotor begins at 38hp. The 440 ends around there.

CT Racing has some strong 440 kits bringing the 400 to around 43hp.

They put a pipe, silencer, and took the airlid off, rejetted and got 50hp with nothing but bolt-ons. They said it blew away their 440.

They are coming out with a piston and cam to put the Raptor in the 60+hp range.

Lowering and widening sure works for the 400. I am hoping these mods will work for the Raptor!

I am really not sure why they choose to make the rear so narrow. I think they were aiming for a cross country machine, not necessarily a MX. What I am doing is setting it up to MX.

The "tippiness" goes away,as compared to the 400, when the rear is the same width.(apples to apples)

i laugh evertime someone argues what is better!! i know both of those quads are fast and fun. right now i ride a scrambler because no other company builds what the scrambler has. honda will come out with something better just give them time!! look back over the past years..nothing comes close to honda's reputation..NOTHING!! hondas are always knocked because they are full time 4 wheel drive!! but they are reliable as hell!! everytime i see quads with snorkels they are almost always honda!! that should tell you something!! what happens whne your quad pukes in 3 feet of water! i am sure honda will soon have a rubicon and rancher with the option of 2 or 4 wheel!! no matter what you ride it is still riding!! ride on!!

I work at a Honda dealership and I have a few things to say. 1. We cannot keep our 400EX's in stock, they get sold as soon as we put them on the showroom floor, often before that. 2. There isn't going to be a 600EX or 650EX next summer. The 250EX arrives in january, other than that nothing new. We also can't keep Rubicons in stock.

Hold up there buddy. I have a couple of buddies that beg to differ with you on this subject. They are still at stock bore and can keep up with the Raptors with ease. And on hill climbs they bet them. If my buddies put a 440 kit with the mods they already have your Raptor would look like it was stuck in 1st gear. Sorry to burst your bubble but your bike is not the fastest thing out. Stock ds650 are workin Raptors with ease.
