I have a 2002 300ex and am looking to make if faster someone told me about a 440 kit..can anyone explain what that is and how much faster it is

 

dont u mean 330 kit??? If so it will b much faster

 

It might have been a 330 kit...what is it ?...and will it hang with 400's ??

i dought it will hang with the 400's, it will keep up 2 a point but will never dominate. If i were u i wood just buy a 400 or 450, if your worried about keeping up with the 400's

 

While the 300EX is a great machine, if you need more speed it is probably a better idea to sell yours and upgrade to another class. You can dump a lot of time and money into a 300 to make it run with a 400, or just buy a stock 400 and have better power, handling, suspension, and reliability to boot. Of course, you could always try a pipe and intake/rejet if your 300 is totally stock. That might be enough to keep you satisfied for a while.

 

If you can find a good used 350X ATC motor, they supposedly slip in with minimal headaches and can really rip it up!! Just from what I've heard ... on the downside, you'll loose reverse incase that's important to you.

Like a couple have already pointed out. You will do better in the long run to get a 400 or 450 first and then mod from there as the need arises. =]

 

My 330EX will beat most stock 400EXs but it took a great deal of money to do it.

I have the Powroll set up with the 10.5 compression and billet midrange cam. I had Kenz Cycle Tech do mild port and polish on the head. It put out over 28 hp on the dyno. I think that once I take off the amp link and free up the chain a little more it will put out about 30 hp.

It is fun to watch the eyes of stock 400ex rider when he expects to beat you and he doesn't. Of course as everybody else has mentioned once you mod the 400ex the party is over.

If you want to beat a modded 400ex get the 450R.

While the 400ex is great quad, I just never got into them. I love the 450R, I have two of them and thinking about getting another one.
