You dont need lift to clear 27's on the 450, dont know if you do if your bike is a Forman 400. Lift will put more strain on the front CV's especially with that tire, its one of the heaviest on the market out of the box, and worse when its fully loaded with bog as it scoops more then most other tires.

Since every lift I've seen is just a shock spacer (forces the suspension towards full extension) its not really worth it. I'd like to see a proper kit like you can get for trucks and IRS bikes that keep the geometry close to stock. According to an email I got from gorilla axle, they are developing such a kit for the Forman.

A lift will do nothing for ground clearance in the rear and the rear is where you need it most. The front is not much of an issue. If you shift weight back it will get the front up more. I think you will lose alot of power if you put 27" tires on. You need all the power you can get when playing in the mud. Nothing worse than playing in the mud and you cant even spin the tires because they are too big.
