Do you plan on rolling down all the hills? On a 500 I wouldn't go any bigger than a 27" and that is pushin' it. But if you really want to for whatever reason and you want to do it right you will have to fab somthin' most lift kits you can buy only raise you 2 inches. If you are running 24" tires now which I think is stock on the 500 you will need a 2 inch lift to go to 27" tires. If you want to roll 30 " tires and still have any kind of fender clearance you will propably have to lift it yourself. I have never seen a pre disigned lift over 2 inches.

You seem to be stuck on big tires so I would go for a 2 inch lift and some 27" tires but you will loss power and tip easier on the trails if it were me I wouldn’t lift it at all and just throw some good 26" tires on. What kind of terrain do you mostly ride?

what im worryed about is rubing on the finders will 26s rub any. i mostly trail ride, some mud, and some on road traveling to get to the trail head from friends houses. i was thinking ITP MudLites on ITP Type-6s

If you are running 25" now you could bump up to 26" without a lift and without any rubbin' If you mainly trail ride and if you are going to run on any hard pack I would recommend the mudlite XTR's over the mudlite's the lugs are closer together making it much better for trail and hard pack, it won't wear as fast it's a smoother ride and you will still be able to sling some serious mud. That is what I am getting once I find the $$$. If you go up to 27" I would recommend a lift. But for what your doing I would stick with 26ers
