How fast is a stock Rubicon
I have an '05 and it tops out around 56 on the speedo. According to the GPS, it is more like about 54. Honda increased the size of the carb in '06, so I would think it would be slightly faster.
Of course a lot of things is going to effect top speed including altitude, temp, weight, etc.
But really - how fast do you want to go on a 600lb quad?

With the option of 2wd and increased carb the 06,and 07 should be able to do 60mph.If you engine isn`t broken in yet you might not be able to get as high of a top speed until the engine is broken in.I have had my 04 doing 60 and with the changes over the past few years an 07 should be able to do it also.
There is a way to get alittle more out of the older rubicons not sure if its the same on the 07.The older models had some throtle slop which was said to make the carb stay slightly closed instead of fully open, just ajust the throtle cable and then you should be able o get alittle more top end.

I've had my stock 05 CTE up to 98kmh on pavement (according to the speedo). When you convert that to Mph it is 60.89mph. With my 26" mudlites the speedo will not read that fast though.....even though I am probably still travelling that speed.
I am dumbfounded if you can only get 50mph out of yours????
In Canada, Honda came out with the CTE in 2005 which has the bigger carb and a remapped tranny. The tranny improvement seems to make a big difference!
