Default questions on purchase

Hi, I am new to the ATV stuff. I have used ATVs in the past, but never owned one. I am looking at a 2001 Rancher ES 350. I know the original owner and history of the unit. Unit looks to be in excellent condition, except it needs tires.

My question are:

This unit has 4000 miles on it. Is this alot of miles for an ATV?

Any specific items I should look at before buying?

Is there anywhere to get used values on ATVs?

I am buying for a hunting/ice fishing ATV. Not planning on any trail riding at this time. Also going to use for working some small food plots and cutting wood on my hunting land.

Thanks, Paul

id hate to think 4k on a quad would be to much. its a honda . their cars go 100's of thousands of miles. what id look for. is good brakes. check the frame for dents. hows the suspension feel over bumps. the squeaks and rattles.

Is is 2 or 4 wheel drive? I would not pay more than $3000 if its 4wd. Less for 2wd.

Take it to your local shop and have their mechanics give you an opinion of its condition and have $2k ready because it sounds like a steal.
