idle problem with trx 90
#1
I am having problems getting the idle right on my daughters 2002 trx90. once its warmed up it never goes back to the same idle rpm after the gas is pushed. i have taken the carb off and clean it. I have made sure the oring between the carb and intake is good and neither seemed to help. Any ideas would be appreciated.

does it seem like the choke is stuck or on or the throttle cable is sticking if you could give more info that would be appreciated it could be a few different things but all would have to do with the carb.

once i think i have it set, if u give a little gas once it returns to idle its usually too high but if u let it sit a while it slowly lowers and sometimes shuts off from idling too low. i was thinking there might be something keeping the slide from seating back in the main jet right away after pressing the throttle. I have cleaned both the main jet and slide. is it possible the spring is so weak to reseat it?

check to see if anything isn't stuck like the needle as you mentioned since that happens sometimes and make sure the diaphragm is seated correctly with no tears if thats all fine then try adjusting the idle screw on the side of the carb maybe something moved it or someone messed with it.

nvm I just looked it up I guess yours doesn't have it or it just isn't listed but the diaphragm is usually a black rubber ring I had mentioned this because the diaphragm if it isn't seated right or has holes in it will allow the quad to idle but once you hit on the gas it will cut out. But it looks like the honda's use slides ( number 6 in the diagram I sent) I was referring to my ds 650 when not looking at the diagram of your carb til now.
