recon problems

Default recon problems

i have a 97 recon and everytime i go through a ditch, pop a wheelie, or go in water around the footpeg it dies and is hard to start back up but if i shake it side to side it will start right up. anyone kno how to fix this?

may be the float is getting stuck... but that wouldnt explain the water up to the foot pegs deal. Are you sure there are no cracks/holes in the cases?

take your carb apart and clean out the jets making sure you can see light through the holes, change your oil and make sure you have no water in it, spark plug, and make sure your valve clearence is fine...I just added a few other maintanance things but the carb is most likely clogged so clean the jets out.
