Rincon Price
Okay. I need a hunting quad that has full independent suspension and fuel injection. I have found a new 06 Rincon GPScape for $ 6,500. Is this a good deal?
Or the 07 Suzuki King Quad 450 for $6,799 out the door.
Which one? Man I had an easier time finding a good wife then a freaking quad.
Thx

Question for you Rincon Owners. I read on this site that there was concern that the 06 Rincon does not have a locking differential and you have to use the brakes to excess on steep downhills. Is this an issue of concern? Also someone stated that below 8mph, there is no engine brake. Is this an issue?
I must admit that I am a newbie and have no freaking idea of what I am talking about. That's where you come in.
Man have I been run thru the mill trying to decide. I have been thinking of the Honda Rincon for $6,500, the Suzuki KQ 450 for $6,799, the Yamaha Grizzly 400 for $6,100, 07 Honda TRX420 for $6,000.
Sorry to burden with my decisions, I just don't want to buy one then regret it. Need a smooth ride due to a jump accident in the Army. Back.
Thx

If you are a newbie then I dont think having or not having EBS is a big deal and you dont need a locker. You can get all four tires to spin in nast situations if needed. You wont find a better riding atv than the Rincon except the Sportsman. The Sportsman rides like a cadillac. Nice and smooth but it handles like a tank. The Rincon rides more like a mercedes but handles like a sport quad. 6500 is a great deal for a new Rincon. As for the EBS some like it, some dont and SOME seem to think we all need it. I have EBS on the Sportsman and I hate it. If you wheelie and let off to put the front back down it almost throws you off the front. If you are riding fast and someone is behind you, you let off the throttle you better hold on because you are going to have another rider up your a$$. I like to ride fast and when I let off I like it to coast. EBS sucks in the snow or icy conditions because in more cases then not you will slide expecially going around turns. I like to control my front and rear brakes seperate. I can creep just as slow if not slower than with EBS down steep hills. It all depends on how you learn to ride. I have been riding for over 25 yrs and learned how to use my brakes effectively and saftly. Never had an issue on steep hills. Now there are people here that will swear by having ebs is like the BEST thing in the world. Again its a matter of opinion and experience.
Out of the other quads you have mentioned NONE of them even come close to the Rincon in performance, handling and comfort. If you were to have a choice on other big bore quads along with the Rinny then I think you will get some more opinions but for what choices you have its a no brainer!

For your intended uses and the price, you can't go wrong with the Rincon. As far as engine braking its not even an issue. I ride with others that have lockers and visco lock front ends and have not found anything that they could go through and I couldn't.
Its your money but my vote goes to the Rincon.
On this board go back to Monday the 15th and look for Rincon first ride. This is a new owners opinion about the Rincon.

Just got a new 05 rincon, and am glad I did.
The engine braking is only an issue if you do a lot of rocky downhill riding. If you have smooth surfaces going downhill, brakes will slow you down just right. This is because the Rincon is an automatic just like your car or most modern pickups are. It handles the same.
As for differential locking, that only matters if you are in very deep mucky stuff or in shifting sand. Again, normal hunting land riding will not matter. Actually, if you are on hard slippery surfaces like wet clay soil or ice, the limited slip of the Rincon will actually give you better traction than a locked differential.
The rincon has the best (aka smoothest) ride I've ever been on. In the woods going over stumps and over brush it was perfect.
The biggest reason to get the Rincon over the others you are considering is the maintenance. Honda's are well known for just get on and ride. Change oil at regular intervals, and don't worry about where the nearest shop is located.
I would say the price is in line. Not sure if that includes tax title and licensing. But even as a base price it's not too bad. I paid $6,600 or so after all was said and done with. Bought it a month ago and it's a 2005 model. Only had them add a hitch to it. I think it was like $35-45 for that.
