I am selling my quad and my local dealer has a barely used 2006 450r. He is giving me a pretty good price on it. It has a full system yoshimura carbon fiber exhaust. a k and n airfilter kit the kind with no airbox. nerf bars, a jet kit and full underbody protection. They already took care of the recall problem with the a arms and replaced the battery because they heard of problems. The price they are giving me is 4800 do you think that is a good deal. Plus how realiable is this quad and how do you like the yosh exhaust? thanx

No airbox?...........How can you be sure that someone hasn't ran the crap outta this thing?
The 06 450ER is a nice quad (my second choice) but I would have to buy one new or at least totally stock but thats just me and how I feel towards buying any used quad.

 

yea, well its like the bolt on pro design k and n kit. The dealer said less than 2 hours of riding so im just goin by what they said. is the engine reliable on the 450r's

 

also, how bad is this starter? I have read a lot of threads on hear about the starter.

well i definately am going to get it now. But i need to sell my 350 first. it is in great condition and has been well taken care of. I have had it on ebay and i never get any bids on it. I put good pictures and everything but never get anyone who will bid on it. Does anyone have any advice on where else to sell it or if you know someone who wants one. Thanx alot

 

nice deal, but without the K&N since it will ruin the engine...It allows too much dirt to pass and it gets on the valves creating engine failure and you don't want that...other then that it sounds like a good deal but when starting the 450r don't give it gas because that is when you throw out the starter and to charge the battery a little better leave the lights on...Keep up with maintanance and keep a log of how many tanks of gas and how long you rode for...Also be careful which way you put the oil filter in...Let me know if you get it and I will help ya out if you need any.
