I want to try to get the push button starter to work again on this machine. here is a history on what is going on with it. replaced the battery with no affect. I have a car starter/battery charger I can put on the battery posts and it will start up. I suspect the solenoid but don't want to just throw parts at it. Can anyone tell me where to start to try and fix this.

Inspect the cable connections at the battery closely; I'm thinking you may have a bad connection. (I would clean them just to be sure) By jumping it off you would be providing a "good" connection directly to the cable ends.

If that's not it let us know.

ok I did find one problem a blown fuse that caused the green neautral light and the red reverse and oil light to come on. I cleaned all the connections and still no start with the push button from the battery. I still can put the booster on and it will start right up. I was thinking it might be the battery itself. I can hear the cylenoid click if I put my ear right at it. any ideas???

Did you cleaned and tightened the cables? I always look for the easiest problems first. It may very well be that you have a solenoid problem. Sometimes extra juice from a jump will mask such a problem.

yes I took off all the main connections that go to the battery, solenoid, and starter and cleaned them and tightened them back down. I did find the blown fuse like I said but I don't think that is it. So if you put extra juice on the battery it will make the solenoid work??? how can I check the solenoid or is it just a part swap thing .thanks for the reply so far.
