Default 27" tires on rubicon

I was thinking about putting some 27" tires on my 01 rubicon iwas wondering if anyone thinks that it is a bad idea or if it will take to much power away from the bike. I'm not sure what kind of tires i want yet.

They will work you will see a slite power loss if you go with any thing like ITP 589s but if you get some thing like the mudlights you will be ok.

I personally would not go that big. I recently got the Mudlite XTR's and Im super happy with them. I went with the stock 25's and the tires feel not too much heavier than stock to me. The ride is awesome, Im not going to bother looking at a Warn 424 kit now because quad turns effortlessly. I think you might be able to go to 26" but 27" might rub on foot gaurd fenders. I have picture in my profile that shows the 25's.

Whats more important to you. 1 inch of more ground clearance with loss of power or stock size better tire with all your power. Its better to have all your power with a more agressive tire than have a bigger more agressive but not enough power to turn them. If anything go with 26". Get the best of both.

Ya I have to agree there I went with 1 inch bigger tires, guess what it really doesn't matter your going to get suck no matter how much clearance you have.
