Default Rancher or Eiger

I've been researching alot of quads lately and I'm down to the Rancher 420 4x4 and the Eiger 4x4. Not sure which to buy. Does anyone have any input on either of these to help me decide?

If power is a concern of yours, you will hate yourself if you don't go with the Rancher. I just read that it will run circles around the Foreman 500.

If the Rancher were lighter, it would be absolutely perfect!

I have a honda rancher 420 and i love it. i just got it 2 months ago, and i have put it to the test. so far ive sank it and flooded it 2 times and all i do is change the oil and its back roling again. i dont try to destroy it i just ride in cypress swamps a lot. it has plenty of power and the 4wd works great. mine is the manual shift but my buddy got the electric thumb shift and it works really well.

hope to give you some input on the 2 quads. my dad owns a 06 eiger 400 4x4, i own a 07 honda rancher 420, both 4x4. both have comparable power, honda slightly more power, the big difference is the honda is fuel injected, which is a plus, if your going to hunt in high elevation, saves you time on jetting, plus will start faster in really cold weather. the eigers big advantage is it has a better suspension, the honda will rock and roll alot easier then the eiger so when your in heavy ruts and nasty 4x4 trails if your not used to riding be careful on the honda, will roll on you. over all i love both machines , i would go with the eiger if you dont have much expeirence on the nasty trails, or if you do, and you want a sporty risky thrill id go with the honda. overall there both awesome 4x4 quads you cant go wrong with which one you choose.

I would go with the rancher, can't beat honda reliability and cant go wrong with the fuel injection

The Honda will "roll on you"???? Not sure what expeiences he has personally had, but this machine is NOT the least bit tippy. In fact, it is the mushy IRS machines that tend to be tippsy, not the SRA's.

I believe that the Eiger is also an SRA.

Never said is wasn't SRA!

Can't figure this guy out (wa3rh), calling the Honda a "sporty risky thrill". Sounds like he has never ridden anywhere but his back yard, so anything that isn't perfectly level is risky terrain to him (?). I don't think you will find that this is anybody else's experience at all, so take it with a grain of salt folks!
